Director, Consulting - BI & Data Management

Position Summary
The Director, Consulting leads consulting engagements within the Business Intelligence & Data Management space for a variety of Info-Tech Advisory services. This position also assists in growing the organization by securing additional project activities, driving proposal completion, and developing junior team members.


Major Responsibilities

  • Lead client interactions and client management primarily in the BI & Data Management space, with weekly project updates, presentation of deliverables, report collation, and related administration.
  • Maintain project tracking, hours, costs, and other variables against budget and conduct basic funnel management.
  • Support business development activities by participating in proposal writing, project scoping, and presentation of the solution to clients.
  • Create compelling reports in Microsoft PowerPoint and Word to compile results of analysis and demonstrate solutions for clients.
  • Mentor and coach junior consultants and research analysts to provide project leadership.
  • Support research team with insights gleaned from client engagements; encourage and partake in cross collaboration with research teams.
  • Work closely with Managing Director, Consulting on strategic plans and go to market activity.
  • Identify opportunities to present to broader internal groups i.e. research, sales, etc.
  • Coordinate engagements with external third party contractors.

Education and Experience
Required

  •  Post-secondary education.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in a business advisory capacity, ideally dealing with BI & Data Management related projects. 
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the creation of project proposals, RFP responses, and Statements of Work.
  • Project budget management. 
  • Demonstrated experience with client interaction for both sales and delivery.

Desirable

  •  Recognized designation (i.e. CMC, PMP), an asset
  • MBA, an asset

Skills

  • Client Interaction & Facilitation: Build rapport and effectively communicate with clients over the phone and through facilitated in-person sessions.
  • Project Management: Manage project scope and budget effectively and report on project progress in a timely manner.  Lead challenging negotiations, while managing scope and client expectations.
  • Written Communication: Craft and word deliverables in a clear and concise manner, for a polished, professional and graphically appealing outcome.
  • Presentation Skills: Present and influence client stakeholders through the presentation of Info-Tech proposals and deliverables.
  • Business Development: Generate advisory sales leads through interactions with clients (i.e. analyst calls or project work) and proposal of Info-Tech services to fulfill client needs.
  • Adaptability: Ability to work in a dynamic, evolving environment, and mentor/lead others through change.

Additional Comments

  • Must be eligible to obtain a TN1 Visa
  • Willingness to travel, approximately 20-35%
