Senior Manager, Human Resources

Location: Toronto, ON

Info-tech Research Group is a fast growing, owner managed, IT Research firm with offices in Canada and the US. We are looking to expand the Human Resource function with a newly created Senior Human Resources Manager role. Reporting to the VP HR, this role will have two direct reports and can be located in either Toronto or London (Toronto preferred) with expectation of at least one day a week in the other office.           

We are looking for an experienced, growth-oriented HR professional, who is able to collaborate ‘hands on’ with HR, Strategy and Finance teams in building practical HR capabilities that deliver an engaging talent experience and integrated HR solutions. 

The HR function at Info-Tech is comprised of four core pillars of process, principles and policy:

Learning, Development & Engagement                Talent Acquisition

Performance Management                                  HR Strategy & Operations 

Role Summary   

Navigating a matrixed and entrepreneurial environment undergoing rapid growth and organizational change

There will be three areas of responsibilities; 

  • Lead delivery of Employment and Employee Relations for the company and provide wide-ranging HR generalist service for assigned departments.   
    • Manage employment and employee relations
    • Resolve conflicts, balancing needs of leader, company and employee 
    • Coach employees and leaders on employment related issues 
    • Improve HR Policy and Operational processes 
  • Drive company-wide delivery and operation of the Performance Management core process that includes job evaluation and design, objective setting, appraisal, improvement, and discipline (30%)
  • Team Management and Performance 
    • Manage & Coach team to meet & exceed performance expectations 

Education/Certification and Experience

  •  Bachelor degree in related field (Business, Commerce, HR or Administrative studies)
  •  Minimum 7-10 years progressive HR experience including 5 years in a generalist or business partner role
  •  Must have demonstrated HR experience in 1 or more of sales, IT, research, consulting or professional services
  •  Demonstrated experienced in a multi-unit/site, matrixed environments
  •  Must have CHRP. Ideally has CHRL or working towards it
  •  MBA would be an asset but is not essential 

Knowledge, Skills and Attributes

  •  Demonstrated project and change management skills and strong general business acumen
  •  Thorough knowledge of human resource management practices and employment related legislation 
  •  Strong knowledge and experience with performance management and job evaluation/design 
  •  Strong communication, relationship and stakeholder management skills
  •  Proven ability to work effectively on a team, providing guidance and support to other team members
  •  Capable in Microsoft Office – Outlook, Excel, Power Point, Word
  •  Assets: Canada/US work visas & immigration; HRMS; US/ global employment
  •  Optimistic outlook; resilient to shifting priorities - maintains demeanor in high intensity situations
  •  Service oriented - recognizes the importance of internal clients and external members
  •  Works independently with high attention to detail and confidentiality
  •  Able to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment flexing to frequent change
  •  Drive insights though data, analytics, experience, critical thinking and professional judgment
