Director, Social Media

Department: Marketing
Location: Toronto

Are you an expert at growing building and engaging clients on social platforms and establishing thought leadership via social? If so, we’re looking for you!

The Director, Marketing Social Media will be responsible for developing and executing the social media strategy and establishing a social media governance framework and the related policies. This role will play an active role in increasing brand recognition through follower growth, content marketing, follower engagement and equipping and training employees on the effective use of social media to engage with prospects and clients.

The Director, Marketing Social Media will also carry out content curation and align the company’s social media presence along with vision and initiatives, currently in progress. The role will collaborate with stakeholders from across the organization including, creative, development, research and vendors to build thought leadership and social media presence.

Role Scope / Responsibilities:

  • Develop, execute and iterate overall social media strategy to build, improve and enhance our presence across different platforms.
  • Collaborate with members of the marketing team to ensure alignment of messaging, and assist with delivering a social component and support integrated campaigns for both prospects and clients with relevant social tactics.
  • Develop and share social media governance policy and best practices for employee use. Deliver organizational training on the effective and appropriate use of social media.
  • Develop communication cadence and social content repository that employees can leverage for posting on their personal social networks.
  • Monitors the temperature and engagement across owned social platforms, and develops initiatives and campaigns to continually grow and engage our communities.

Education, Experience and Skills:

  • BA/BCOM degree in marketing or a related field.
  • 7-10 years’ proven work experience in social media marketing in B2B environments
  • Working knowledge of social media monitoring and management tools.
  • Proven experience in social content marketing, including developing multimedia content.
  • Experience developing an enterprise social media governance policy
  • Creativity, flexibility, and the ability to engage audiences in a voice appropriate for the audience and platform.
  • Experience in B2B subscription services environment highly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce.com and integration with leading marketing automation tools highly preferred.
  • Experience marketing to IT executives preferred.
