Manager, Consulting (Infrastructure)

Position Summary

The Manager, Consulting leads small-to-mid sized consulting engagements within the infrastructure practice for a variety of Info-Tech Advisory services. This position also assists in growing the organization by securing additional project - engagements, driving proposal completion, and developing junior team members. The Infrastructure Consulting Manager will have a good overall understanding of IT server and core infrastructure, networks, data center operations, co-location, cloud strategy, O365 migrations, and disaster recovery planning.   The candidate will have the opportunity to work with decision makers and C-Level executives and be part of the team directly involved in sales pursuits and the presentation of deliverables.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Lead and/or support client interactions and client management primarily in the infrastructure space, with weekly project updates, presentation of deliverables, report collation, and related administration.
  • Actively participate in the development of the team growth & operational strategy.  
  • Work directly with the Managing Director to in managing projects, hours, costs, and other variables against project deliverables.
  • Support business development activities by participating in proposal writing, project scoping, and presentation of the solution to clients.
  • Create compelling reports in Microsoft PowerPoint and Word to compile results of analysis and demonstrate solutions for clients.
  • Mentor and coach junior consultants and research analysts to provide project leadership.
  • Support research team (by providing feedback provided from with insights gleaned from client engagements; encourage and partake in cross collaboration with research teams.
  • Work closely with Managing Director, Consulting on strategic plans and go to market activity.
  • Identify opportunities to present to broader internal groups i.e. research, sales, etc.
  • Coordinate engagements with external third party contractors.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or other related field
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a business advisory capacity, ideally dealing with infrastructure related projects.             
  • Minimum 2 years practical experience completing project proposals, RFP responses, and Statements of Work.
  • Minimum 2 years with Project Management experience.            
  • Demonstrated experience with client interaction for both sales and delivery.

Skills:

  • Client Interaction & Facilitation: Build rapport and effectively communicate with clients over the phone and through facilitated in-person sessions.
  • Project Management: Manage project scope and budget effectively and report on project progress in a timely manner. Lead challenging negotiations, while managing scope and client expectations.
  • Written Communication: Craft and word deliverables in a clear and concise manner, for a polished, professional and graphically appealing outcome.
  • Presentation Skills: Present and influence client stakeholders through the presentation of Info-Tech proposals and deliverables.
  • Business Development: Generate advisory sales leads through interactions with clients (i.e. analyst calls or project work) and proposal of Info-Tech services to fulfill client needs.
  • Adaptability: Ability to work in a dynamic, evolving environment, and mentor/lead others through change.

Additional Comments:

  • Must be eligible to obtain a TN1 Visa
  • Willingness to travel, approximately 20-35%
