Are you a experienced IT Professional who is passionate about knowledge sharing, learning and writing on new trends within IT industry, and being a SME within your respective IT niche?

Due to continued growth within our Research -Applications practice, we are expanding our Team of talented Professionals and are looking for a Director, PMO Research. This role helps Info-Techís extensive client list; build, manage, and improve their Project Management Office.  The successful candidate will advise Info-Tech Research members over the phone, in person, and through written research.  

This role will suit someone looking to step away from an internal PMO or other operational/management role and apply their wealth of knowledge and experience to the global IT market as a trusted advisor and thought leader.    

Role Summary

The Director, PMO Research develops practical, tactical, and strategic approaches to overcoming the common problems in the IT project lifecycle, from project request through prioritization, resourcing, execution, and closure. The successful candidate will expand our research and customers' mind share in the after-project areas of organizational change management and benefits attainment. Our publications become the by-product of your experiences with customers, the leading thought models, and your own creativity.  

The Director, PMO Research helps to guide our research services as we continue our global expansion with advisory calls and on-site workshops. In addition, you will have opportunities to sell and deliver custom consulting services to clients whose needs fall outside of our existing research coverage.    

We are looking for strong skills in;

  • Delivery of business advisory services specifically within IT Project Portfolio Management
  • Client Interaction and Facilitation; ability to build rapport and communicate effectively with clients
  • Client/project management; manage project scope, budget, and reporting within a timely manner, lead negotiations while managing scope and client expectations
  • Writing; able to craft and word deliverables in a clear and concise manner. Achieve an aesthetically appealing outcome that is polished and professional. 
  • Business Development: Generate advisory sales leads from interactions with clients, whether during analyst calls or during project work, and proposing Info-Tech Research Groupís services to fulfill Memberís needs. 
  • Adaptability:  Ability to work within in a dynamic and changing environment. Mentors and leads others through those changes.   

Major Responsibilities   

  • Use your knowledge and experience across IT project portfolio management and resource management to help Info-Tech Research Groupís Clients improve their PMO practice either remotely (working through a series of advisory calls) or on-site (leading structured 1-week workshops). 
  • Contribute to Info-Techís Research Agenda planning activities by identifying trends in the Project Portfolio Management practice, proposing research topics, and developing research outlines and scoping documents. 
  • Contribute to research content through the creation of best practice methodologies, blueprints, case studies, and industry research. 
  • Provide guidance and advice in establishing and improving an effective PMO practice to clients over the phone. 
  • Take part in data-driven diagnostic engagements with Info-Tech Research Groupís Members, adapting survey questionnaires, and analyzing results. 
  • Identify opportunities to provide value to members through workshops and consulting engagements. 
  • Support business development activities for Consulting and Advisory services by participating in proposal writing, project scoping, and presentation of services to clients. 
  • Deliver keynote presentations in client events organized by Info-Tech Research Group. 
  • Mentor and coach junior consultants and research analysts by contributing to our knowledge sharing learning and development of resources

Education and Experience Required

  • Undergraduate degree in Business, IT, or related discipline 
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in business advisory within IT Project Portfolio Management
  • Certifications in an IT or project management related topic e.g. PMP, COBIT 5, ITIL, are considered beneficial. 
  • This role will involve travel to the US, and therefore, TN Visa Eligibility is a requirement as is the willingness and ability to travel up to 50% of the time. 
  • Must be available for after-hours client call taking twice a month for two hours each time
